At the end of a solitary, 270-metre-long pier, floating above Lake St Clair is Pumphouse Point. Once home to water turbines intended for Tasmania's Hydro Electricity Scheme, the gothic building was decommissioned and heritage-listed in the 90s, and has since become one of Australia's most exclusive, luxury wilderness retreats, surrounded by over 100-kilometres of impressive nature walks.
